After quite a lot of planning and fear of flight bumps, I am very grateful and humbled to be back in Western Australia for some family time and catch up with the sun. Relief.
Perth feels like a paradise right now and I find myself checking if I have my mask with me or trying to keep a distance from people on the street. I have to remind myself I can actually hug people hello again! It is a strange shift to say the least but one that I feel so lucky to make.
On World Opera Day I attended the Opera Lovers WA Aria Prize at WAAPA. It was so fantastic to not only watch live music again but also to see the fabulous new talent coming out of that building. Being back in the MA was a blast from the past thats for sure! While I'm home I thought it would be a fabulous chance to put on some concerts and reconnect with my fellow WA artists. I am overjoyed to announce my schedule for the next few months.
7 NOV - Back to the Future... of Opera with FFO
5 DEC - I'll Be Home for Christmas
10 DEC - Let's Misbehave
27-30 JAN - Side by Side @ Perth Fringe Festival
These concerts are all in collaboration with WA businesses too which is very exciting. I'm really looking forward to performing with some fantastic artists and to be giving some of my music making back to my home. A lot of these musicians have come back to WA after having lost work overseas so it is such a special time to be able to collaborate after many years of being away.
It's good to be home <3
