I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
Join Soprano Daniella Sicari, Mezzo Soprano Caitlin Cassidy and Organist Alessandro Pittorino for an evening of beautiful music and Christmas festivities. ‘I’ll be Home For Christmas’ celebrates three Perth artists returning home to share their talents.
Each performer has been building their international careers on the stage across the globe. Between the three of them they have performed on concert platforms and opera houses in Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States and of course here in Australia. These artists’ journeys started here in Western Australia. Sicari and Cassidy studied at WAAPA before moving abroad to pursue their postgraduate studies in opera at Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester) and Mannes School of Music (New York) respectively. Pittorino studied organ at UWA before attending The Juilliard School (New York) for a Masters in Organ.
The life of a travelling artist can be arduous as it is always difficult to be away from home, especially over the Christmas season which makes this homecoming concert a particularly heartfelt occasion.
Sicari, Cassidy and Pittorino will perform a selection of Christmas classics with music by Brahms, Handel and Bach as well as some jazzy Christmas favourites and a few traditional carols that will have the audience in chorus.
‘I’ll be Home for Christmas’ promises to be a magical occasion fit for the classical connoisseur and the child in us all. The concert will be held on the 5th of December in the stunning St Mary’s Church, South Perth and there will be a 20 minute interval in the church hall for complimentary refreshments and Christmas treats.
